Geaux Jobs is partnering with Coastal Truck Driving and several local employers to host an Interest Session for individuals interested in earning a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and pursuing rewarding career opportunities.

The session will take place on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Pointe Coupee Library, located at 201 Claiborne Street, New Roads, LA 70760.

What You Will Learn

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet representatives from:

• Geaux Jobs

• Coastal Truck Driving (training provider)

• TMC

• Capitol City Produce

Participants can ask questions, learn about available career paths, meet potential employers, and even complete applications during the event.

About the Training Program

Eligible participants may qualify for a FREE Modified Class A CDL/Vocational Truck Trailer Training Program, which includes:

• An 80-hour training program

• 40 hours of classroom instruction

• 40 hours of behind-the-wheel driving experience

• Transportation assistance to training, if needed

• Funding through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) for qualified applicants

  
  

This program is designed to prepare individuals for successful careers in the commercial trucking industry while helping employers meet the growing demand for skilled drivers.
