Coffee & Conversations: Supporting Workforce Development in Rural Communities

On Thursday, December 2nd, at 2:00 PM, the Pointe Coupee Early Childhood Coalition, a proud member of the Greater Pointe Coupee Chamber of Commerce, is hosting a Coffee & Conversations event at the Julien Poydras Center in New Roads. This event will bring together community members, business leaders, and organizations to discuss how rural communities are leading the way in enhancing the quality of life for families and building a stronger workforce through innovative strategies.

Highlighting Local Efforts and Statewide Impact

Rural communities across Louisiana are proving that innovation isn't just for big cities. Through collaboration, creative problem-solving, and a focus on workforce development, rural areas are addressing critical challenges—like crime reduction and economic growth—while improving services for working families.

At the event, guest speakers from the Louisiana Policy Institute for Children and the Ready Start Networks of the 18th Judicial District Court will share insights on how rural communities are supporting their workforce and reducing barriers to success. They will highlight successful programs and strategies being implemented throughout the region that are making a measurable impact on family well-being, crime reduction, and local economic growth.

What You Can Expect:

  • Networking Opportunities: Meet and engage with fellow community members, business owners, and leaders invested in the future of Pointe Coupee Parish.

  • Insightful Presentations: Hear directly from experts on how rural communities are leading the state in workforce development and creating stronger, safer communities.

  • Innovative Strategies: Learn about the collaborative initiatives that are helping families thrive, from early childhood education to job training and economic development.

This event is open to the public and provides a valuable opportunity to learn about and discuss the innovative ways rural areas are tackling challenges and supporting local families.
