Help Save Lives at Pointe Coupee General Hospital's Community Blood Drive

A single blood donation has the power to make an extraordinary difference. In fact, one donation can help save up to three lives. With a national blood shortage affecting hospitals across the country, now is the perfect time to step forward and give this life-saving gift.

On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, two Greater Pointe Coupee Chamber of Commerce members, Pointe Coupee General Hospital and The Blood Center are partnering to host a community blood drive from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Blood Center Bus will be conveniently located in the hospital's front parking lot, making it easy for community members to stop by and donate.

As part of this special blood drive, every donor will receive an exclusive commemorative black polo shirt honoring America's 250th Anniversary while supplies last. It is a meaningful way to celebrate our nation's history while giving back to neighbors who may be facing medical emergencies, surgeries, cancer treatments, or chronic illnesses.

To ensure a smooth donation experience, donors are encouraged to:

• Eat a healthy meal before donating.

• Drink plenty of water to stay well hydrated.

• Schedule an appointment by scanning the QR code on the event flyer.

• Complete The Blood Center's FastLane medical questionnaire before arriving to help speed up the donation process.
