Get ready for one of the most exciting and entertaining events of the summer! The Greater Pointe Coupee Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to introduce the First Annual Cardboard Boat Races, taking place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at The Landings Boat Ramp on beautiful False River.
Whether you are an experienced builder, a creative thinker, or simply looking for a fun way to celebrate Independence Day, this event is for you! Gather your family, friends, coworkers, church group, civic organization, or neighborhood team and put your imagination to work by designing and building a boat made primarily from cardboard. Then, put your creation to the ultimate test as you race across False River for a chance to earn bragging rights and exciting awards.

Date: Saturday, July 4, 2026
Location: The Landings Boat Ramp, False River
Boat/Raft Check-In & Inspection: 1:30 p.m.
Race Begins: 2:00 p.m.
Awards
Participants will compete for several exciting awards, including:
🏆 Best in Show
🚢 Titanic Award (Most Spectacular Sinking)
🥇 1st Place Medal
🥈 2nd Place Medal
🥉 3rd Place Medal
Sometimes staying afloat is only half the fun!
Divisions
To encourage participation from all ages, the event will feature two divisions:
Youth Division: Ages 8–17
Adult Division: Ages 18 and older

Registration packets are now available and include team registration, participant waiver, parent/guardian consent, media release, and complete race rules.
