Pointe Coupee Council on Aging to Host Friends of Senior Gala on Saturday, March 29

​The Pointe Coupee Council on Aging (PCCOA) will host its annual "Friends of Seniors Gala" at Circa, located at 237 W. Main Street in New Roads, Louisiana. The event is scheduled on Saturday, March 29 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM and aims to raise $25,000 to support the myriad services PCCOA provides to the senior community. 

Attendees can anticipate an elegant evening filled with delightful cocktails and appetizers, all set within the charming ambiance of Circa's historic venue. This gathering not only offers an opportunity for community members to enjoy a sophisticated night out but also serves as a vital fundraiser to enhance and sustain the programs that benefit local seniors.​

The Pointe Coupee Council on Aging is dedicated to supporting the independence and well-being of older adults in the parish. Their comprehensive services include:​

• Nutrition Programs: Providing home-delivered meals to eligible clients, ensuring that seniors receive nutritious food directly at their residences. ​

• Transportation Services: Offering convenient non-emergency medical transportation, utilizing taxis and public transit options to help seniors attend medical appointments, run necessary errands, and shop for groceries. ​

• Wellness Programs: Focusing on maintaining and improving mental and physical well-being through activities such as exercise classes, health screenings, medication management education, and socialization opportunities. 

• Legal Assistance: Providing legal advice, counseling, and representation to address various issues affecting seniors. 

  
  

These services are designed to help seniors maintain their independence and continue living in their own homes for as long as possible, fostering a sense of dignity and community involvement.
